Welcome Our Community to Canada Day

The African Fair Trade Society warmly welcomes everyone in Maple Ridge—families, elders, neighbours, and newcomers—to join us as we celebrate Canada Day on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, at Memorial Peace Park in downtown Maple Ridge
This day is an opportunity to recognize our shared cultures and connect through music, food, and play.
Celebrating Music, Culture & Family Fun
Prepare for a lively afternoon featuring four stages of entertainment:
- True North Stage starts at 12:30 PM with youth performer Addison Semple, followed by Brass Camel, Ten Souljers, and headliner Susana Williams Band, an award‑winning blend of pop rock, Latin, and jazz.
- Cultural Stage brings the sounds of Afrocity Music, Blue Crane Contortion, White Thunder Spirit Dance, and the Lion & Dragon Dance, highlighting diversity and heritage.
- Busker Stage includes Latin Flavours Fitness, Out of the Rain harbouring sing‑along/storytimes, and folk‑pop artist Neil Harnett.
- Alouette Stage features Magician Norden, Hayley Wallis, Bakara Band, Quickness, and DJ Big Rich setting the mood.
Play, Learn, Connect
For families, the Kids Zone (inflatables, face‑painting, tot hockey) and Adventure Rides—rock‑climbing wall, Euro Bungee, hamster‑ball races, mini‑golf—will keep children happy from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
If you’re seeking movement and magic, join in at Zumba (noon) or catch Norden the Magician on Alouette Stage.
Eat Street & 224 Street Party
Treat your taste buds at Eat Street, a food truck area serving flavours from across the globe. Wander vendor booths featuring community groups—libraries, cultural associations, and more. Don’t miss the 224 Street party, with its festive market, crafts, and local products curated by the Downtown Maple Ridge BIA.
