The African Fair Trade Society warmly invites you to experience Carnaval del Sol, a spectacular celebration of Latin American culture right here in Vancouver. Hosted by Latincouver, this vibrant festival—the largest Latin festival in the Pacific Northwest—takes place from Friday, July 11 to Sunday, July 13 at beautiful Jonathan Rogers Park.

Every corner of the festival bursts with life: live music, spirited dance, mouth‑watering food, family fun, artisan crafts, and even a mini street‑soccer tournament. It’s a lively homage to cultural unity, with this year’s theme “Embrace Our Passion, Celebrate Together!” – a perfect mantra for our shared values.

Music & Dance

Over 120 performances across 10 lively plazas—including the Main Stage, Family Plaza, Seniors Plaza, Artisans Plaza, and more—invite you to dance to salsa, cumbia, vallenato, reggaeton, and beyond.

Food for the Soul

Savor the flavors of Latin America with over 30 traditional dishes at the Food Plaza. It's a culinary journey that warms both the palate and the heart.

Artisans & Community

In the Artisans Plaza, support passionate vendors offering spices, jewels, art, and crafts. We share a belief in the power of fair trade and thoughtfully made goods—and this plaza embodies that spirit.

Mini World Cup!

Interested in sports and cultural play? The vibrant Sports Plaza hosts a 6‑a‑side street‑soccer tournament—a nod to upcoming global events and community teamwork.

Fun for All Ages

Kids will love the Chiquitzin Kids’ Fiesta (Richmond, July 20) and the playful Kids’ Plaza—complete with puppet shows and magic. Seniors enjoy peaceful moments and brain games in the Seniors Plaza.

Opening Night & After‑Party

Kick off with a lively Vallenato concert featuring Alejandro Palacio on Friday evening (July 11), followed by a spirited Latin after‑party at Rain Ultraclub.
