Join the African Fair Trade Society as we invite you to immerse yourself in the mesmerizing melodies and vibrant energy of the Vancouver Folk Music Festival, taking place on the third weekend of July—from Friday, July 18 to Sunday, July 20, 2025, at ʔəy̓alməxʷ / Iy̓ál̓mexw Jericho Beach Park, Vancouver, BC.

Every year since 1978, this cultural celebration has been a highlight of the summer season, drawing thousands of folk lovers, community members, and curious visitors. It’s not just a music festival—it’s a time for storytelling, dance, delicious food, artisan craft, and shared inspiration amid the stunning seaside backdrop.

Festival hours:

• Friday, July 18: Gates open at 2 pm, with performances running until 11 pm
• Saturday & Sunday, July 19–20: Gates open at 9 am, and music continues through to 11 pm

Across eight outdoor stages, expect an eclectic lineup: folk, world, singer-songwriter, hip-hop, bluegrass, and more. The 2025 lineup features global talents like The Zawose Queens (Tanzania), Ye Vagabonds (Ireland), TEKE::TEKE (Canada/Japan), Sue Foley, Watchhouse, VÍÍK, and Speeding West.

• Transit: Catch Bus #4 directly to the site.
• Parking: Limited lot at Jericho Hill Community Centre—available Friday after 5 pm; arrives early for Saturday and Sunday.
• Bring a refillable water bottle: The site is plastic-free.
• Wristbands allow reentry until 11 pm daily.
